
Dr. Stein currently serves as Chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital. He is also the Director and was the driving force behind the creation of the Drexel University College of Medicine's Mini-Medical School. In addition, he serves as the Director of Education and a Board Member of the Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Stein received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College and his medical degree from Downstate Medical College in New York. He completed his Colorectal Surgery training at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. His clinical focus includes complications of inflammatory bowel disease and minimally invasive treatment of colon and rectal cancer. Dr. Stein also has extensively lectured on the prevention of and identifying risk factors for colorectal cancer. His research interests include the links between diet, obesity, genetics and colorectal cancer.He is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and numerous other medical societies.
